Noche de Brujas mericanized Happy Halloween!! (57th email)

Yup from Uruguay!
Well hello family how are thou?! Another week has gone by it was a good one and a little rough and fun! Mira! Umm first off Sunday some crazy things went down! 3 of us had to give talks this past week, of course the topic was Missionary Work. Yes we are still young and kind of procrastinated and waited til the morning of to do them. After that we had to hurry on over to church/area to pick up a new investigator, E. She was a reference from 2 elders in Zone Norte Montevideo. One of the Elders gave me the reference last week but sadly I kind of forgot about it with all the other people we were teaching. It was in the back of my mind the whole time, to make me look not as bad. But anyways they called last Thursday and told us to go find her because she was amazing! And yes she is sooo prepared, she has already gone to church in Montevideo like quite a few times in her Aunt´s ward she just needs to get to know our ward. Seeing if she gets baptized shes got to get to know people. But anyways we walked with her to church and she just walked right in to Young Womens courageously like she´s been going to this ward since birth. She is awesome, we got a charla with her tomorrow and we be puttin a baptism date for the 8th or the 15th. Her Mom doesnt really want to go to church but she likes us and supports her all the way! She was a miracle! And a couple days ago we received another reference from the other elders. The person lives super far and we have been able to visit her but we call them and they are all down to listen which is another miracle for us! It might sound kind of iffy but really we will take all we can get because I gotta admit its been a rougher week on the work part. And these 2 references were tender mercies this week from the Lord!! :) Anyways things are progressing here in Aeroparque again, I love the mish, I love my comp., and I love life!

But this is where the story gets juicy, while we were waiting for Sacrament Meeting to start and you will never believe who showed up.....THE COOKS Pres. and Hna. Cook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because of the Uruguay Elections going on in the Carrasco Ward (in their chapel) everybody had to come to our ward! So yeah all the mission missionaries, temple pres, temple 1st counselor, AMERICAN FAMILIES (brought back so many memories of you guys, sooo awesome and funny!) and lots more! Our chapel was full pretty much and we 3 had to give talks may I emphasize again!! GOOOD GRAVY Elder Petersen and I were flippin out!! Luckily it went alright I was a little, just a little....at the beginning of my talk like always but it got better I knew the Spirit was guiding me and I could feel the power of the BofM as it has had on my conversion because thats what I spoke about! How can we use the BofM in Missionary Work? It was quite the experience! After the meeting we found out that some locos chucked rocks at Pres. and Hna. Cooks car!!!!!! They left a dent and broke the drivers side windshield! So we stayed around to help them clean and vacuum it up. But a bonus was they took us to their house after and we had an awesome American/Mexican Taco lunch in the mission home with just us and the Cooks!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo dece, unfortunately I didnt take a pic because forgot my camera but it was sooo delicious and nice of them to feed us! :):) Ta riquisisimo!! Yup pretty much a crazy, scary,  super fun day you could say!

Nothing much else happened during the work, as I said we are picking up the missionary work here again, and so is the heat! Not sure how hot its been but the humidity is definitely out and it is HANUS! Deja vu from Durazno!! I am already sweating too much and summmer hasnt even started yet! Are you guys planning a wintery Halloween?! Hahaha that would be insane, well but you do have the lights up YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clark even without your Rusty you keep the tradish going! Love you too much! Sorry about the late email, we played some sports with the whole Zone this morning it was a good time! So I am guessing the Irvines are still there visiting Peru?! That was amazing to hear about KAKE´S CALL to New Jersey, congratulations Kake, welcome to the best experience of your life, and the best opportunity to get to know the Savior through serving His children ahhhh its glorious!! :) Well dont get too cold Trick or Treating this week, especially you Linds haha Alexis you are getting too old for it arent you?! Hehehe Love all you guys today and forever oh yeah and TOO MUCH (you cant forget that one mom) ;) Have an spooky week!

Happy :-) -- (56th email)

Hey oh! A whats up familia!
Hows my fam doin this week, is it getting a little chilly if I might presume. Ha like my formal language. Halloween is sooo close, I remember last years Halloween in the CCM like it was yesterday. We dressed up in tunics with our bed sheets, haha good times I wonder what I will do this year probably nothing close to that but you never know! Sups excited to see your costumes, especially the one and only CAVANI!!
Anyways I hope all is well, all is well here in Aeroparque I gotta admit it was a little slower work week but it was a great-fun one! On Tuesday we had a Multi-Zone Conference with 3 other Zones with Pres. and Hna. Cook! I know you have heard about plenty of these from myself but can I just say they are the bomb diggity! Dad you might remember how they were. Im sure you had them right? President Cook always has something wizardly to say! I talked about the importance of committments and how they not only help our investigators but us too! At then beginning he focused a lot on how we have to be committed-converted to the Lord. It was super spiritual, he talked about when we got our misión call, and how every single one of us wrote an acceptance letter back to the prophet. And how that letter wasnt just a piece of wasted paper! It was our written contract on paper and in our hearts that we would obey the misión rules and serve Him fully for the next 2 years. I almost started crying, it was so spiritual. It reminded me how the Lord expects me to the do the best I can, just like you say at the end of every letter Dad! J I understand my purpose as not only a servant but a friend of the Lord to do His work! Then we had lunch, talked with my besties from the CCM and continued learning, practicing, and fun stuff like that!! And aww yeah guess what I found out, I got the second package!!!!!! J Those airheads bites are legit momma! Now I got both of the shoes they should last me the rest of the mish thank you! And wow the rings are amazing!! So much cooler lookin on my finger! I love it! J
Alright continue on with the week, Friday was quite the day we had a giant interchange with the whole zone. We all switched up and I got to work with the a misión financer. What they do is they work in the offices of the misión, managing the finances, and helping President for the major part of the day! Its definitely a little different from the normal life as a missionary. We were like traveling most of the day, we went to the mall for lunch and had Subway again which was glorious! Then we went back to the offices, worked some more, then left for the bank in a part of Montevideo called Ciudad Vieja (Old City). Its in the mission so ive never seen it before but wow it was gorgeous beyond belief! I felt like I was in Italy, it was that kind of style of living! I wish I would have taken some pics but I forgot my camera. I advise you guys to look it up on Google its amazing! :) Umm anyways we basically were just running all over the city turning stuff in, making deposits, pickin up stuff lets just say I am a lot more sympathetic for the financers in this mission they do soooo many things for us! It was a good time. Oh yeah we had an awesome Family Home Evening with Melanie, and her family on Wednesday! And her Dad thats not a member showed up! And boy he showed up, with a ton of questions! The Spirit was definitely there because me and my comp. wouldnt have been able to answer all the deep thought questions he had without him! He likes our church, and Melanie is workin with him to get him interested and hopefully come to church!! :) That would be amazing if we could get their whole family back to church and baptized!

Oh yeah and the BIG sunday, we didnt have much success as we wanted to, lets just say we got some things to fix this week! Only 4/27 converts came this week, and no investigators in church! This is why this week was a little slower. But things are alright, we will fix some stuff up this week and committ people to come this next week! Good thing in the conference we focused on committments because thats what our inv. need to complete! Should be a fun week, wish us luck! :)

I CANT BELIEVE HNA. (kenzie) IRVINE comes home this week, and what KAKE is going on a mission!!!! Woohoo I cant wait to hear where she is off to! :)  Love the pics, thanks DAD! My sisters are babes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I would love to congratulate you all on the family scripture study and FHE!! If I have learned anything on the mish, is how crucial it for every family! I understand why you guys try so hard to have it Mom and Dad, sorry if I didnt pay attention sometimes, wait what did I say that. Im guilty pay attention Alexis that scriptures is a way the Lord talks to us and answers us! Best family ever! And yeah Linds. read the scrips and go to FHE too, love ya babe! Anyways have an amazing week, I will try to have even a better week and love the mission , ive never been happier! Love you ALL for forever and ALWAYS!

Anda che! (55th email)

Hello my gorgeous family!
What a new change here in Aeroparque! How things over there in Tierra alta!? ;) Love you guys! Whats new? How was the big girls bday?! I bet you all partied hard eh!?
Things have changed a lot here in Aeroparque, I am with Elder Petersen now, hes from good ol´Eagle Mt! Gotta love them gringos. He is cool, he is a great missionary very obedient and helps me be more obedient. He´s only got 6 weeks more than me, so we are both youngens chillin´in Montevideo! We also got 'a new to the misión' missionary in the house Elder Cannon from Dallas, Texas. Its hilarious to see what he does because he says exactly what I used to say! He´s a funny kid! Lets just say it should be a good change with the newbies…I hope.
Not too much happened this week to be honest but it was a good one. Tuesday E´Aguilera said bye bye to everybody, and Wednesday we headed off to Malvin, Montevideo for changes! I got to see some of my amigos like usual Elder Wilson, Massey, other cool people from my group! J I met my comp. and then we bounced! This week was mainly just getting to know the Ward and our investigators for my comp. It always takes a bit to get comfortable with the new area, comp. and Ward. Should be a great change! Yesterday we had 4 people committ to come to church but they all were sick or slept in L It didnt turnout as well as we hoped but on the bright side Tatiana got confirmed yesterday! J She is quite the interesting-awesome girl she reminds me a lot of you Alexis. I guess every Little girl reminds me of you! And with Sofie, that got baptized 2 weeks ago turns out she got sick yesterday and couldnt come to church to get confirmed. L Hopefully next week! Other than that we are working with a few of Tatiana's siblings and her mom so that they can come back to church because a long time ago they were comin to church but they never got baptized! It would be awesome to get Tatiana some more support in that way. J
On Friday, we had a Zone Conf. and they shared an awesome scripture in Ether 6 about the Brother of Jared and when God lit the rocks. In verses 2-3 our ZL´s replaced the words ¨stones¨with the word ¨missionaries¨us whatta ya know! But it was super scriptual, they taught us that we are exactly like the stones that gave light to chase the darkness away in the barges! This is what we have been called to do, to invite ALL to come unto Christ. And as we all know Christ name is the Light of the World! We already have this light, we already know it exists however as missionaries we need to lead those people out of their own personal confusión and darkness. Quite simple but an amazing and super principle to keep in mind! To keep shining bright for those who need it! J Just as Wiley Payne Allred was, he gave everything for the church. His testimony just inspired me to keep spreading this work. What a true disciple to Prophet of God he was! Thanks for sharing that with me Daddio. I will definitely use his inspiring testimony, as well as yours and mine to testify the truth of this work! J

Ummmmm what is this really happening?!?! Hermana Irvine is already coming home from her mish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok we are too old, this has got to stop! GOOODNIGHT wow I remember saying bye to her just like it was yesterday!!! Good gravy!! I dont know what to say, her email was really touching though, that should be exciting to see her again. Momma Im glad it was a good sports week, what ballers and of course I remember Melvin Gordon how could a forget a beast like that? Well I hope to see pics next week of Moab and Alexis´s bday!! :) You guys are the best, party it up in Moab for me, get some Moab Diner and Ye Ol´ Geezer for me! Haha have an awesome time, miss you and love you all forever and always!!!!!!!!!!!! :):) PS. I might get the 2nd package tomorrow seria buenaso!

**Here's that brief testimony of Willey Payne Allred (a distant relative)Tyler talked about:
He was very stern, yet kind and tenderhearted. When he was 78 years old he rode a white horse from Emery to Fountain Green and said he was not very tired as he could get off and walk the rest himself. He had a very strong testimony of the gospel and proclaimed right up to his dying day that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God, A while before his death he dictated his testimony to his granddaughter, Mary Johannah Allred. She wrote it in her autograph book and he signed his name. His hand was very snaky and trembling, but the words he dictated rang strong and true, They are as follows: "Joseph Smith was the greatest man I have ever known, and a true Prophet of God." signed, Wiley Payne Allred. He passed away March 28, 1912, at Emery Utah, at the age of 94. A true and faithful Latter Day Saint.

#ldsconf to the MAX bomb diggity (54th email)

Bon jorno familia!
Wow changes week, and I got a few surprises for you guys wait for it……………ohhhhhhhhhh I am out of…………………………………………. a companion! J Gotcha ya! Yes my chileno is gone, Elder Aguilera is leaving to Maldonado. One short change but, what a crazy awesomely one it was! I think I learned more from him than any other comp. He is a mega stud and really knows how to work through those references just like he told me at the beginning of the change! J It made me a better, more confident person and because of that my Spanish is flying and more importantly I love and will miss that kid! He is almost done with his mish, he´s got like 4mths. left!! I will be staying obviously and my new comp. is a gringo!! Woot woot gringo time again!!! His name is Elder Peterson, I've met him before but its not the kid I know from Pleasant Grove he is going home this week!! LOCO! I am so old. Anyways should be a fun next change! I will meet him tomorrow. J
Back to the past, Tuesday worked out amazing!! M bailed at the last minute, she had to stay in the house because of the ¨weather¨we tried to convince her mom but she wouldn't give in! But as we found out later on in the week, her mom isn’t quite in agreement with our church! She wants her to get baptized in a different church, so yeah we ran into some opposition this week. We haven’t been able to pass by her this week to talk to her in person but I will keep you updated! J As for the other two yes they got baptized!!!!!!!! Tatiana and Sofia got baptized and will get confirmed this week!! JJJJJ(see photos) As well as one baptism from the other Elders! We are pretty content and amazed from all the miracles and blessings the Lord has provided us in Aeroparque! Ñ= We accomplished our goal of 6 baptisms the month of Sept., we promised the Lord we would do it through prayer, we tried our best and the Lords helping hand did the rest! They are all active and lovin' the church! J Sebastian got ordained in the Aaronic Priesthood last week, Melanie is reading, bearing her testimony to us everytime we see her, and Geraline is helping us baptize the rest of her family haha! ;) True hijos de Dios!
One quick simple testimony building experience. 2 Sundays ago, it started to rain, we ran to the church because it was the closest. We stayed there for a bit, thinking about what we were going to do. We wanted to finish out the day working but it we didn’t want to get wet, we also didn’t have like any planned charlas. We were about to call it a day and just go home, but I couldn’t get myself to do it. So we left the church already soaked within like 10sec. but instead of going to the bus stop we made a last decision to go to Tatiana´s house around the bend! So we did it, we arrived to her house soaking wet but miraculously she was waitng for us, she let us in and we had an awesome charla. We prepared her for her baptism that was comin up in 2 days! While we were teaching her the rain stopped! J Quite a simple experience but a prayer answered I know it! I have a huge testimony of faith in prayer now. Alma 31:38, Alma found joy in his Savior Jesus Christ from praying with faith! I know that is what happened to me this week, at times I forget what name I am carrying on my plaque, I'm guilty I admit it! But this week I remembered that I carry not 1 but 2 names on my missionary plaque mine, and JESUCRISTO. J I represent Him, because of that he has trusted me with his power, and authority to help the people here in Aeroparque. A weakness is just a stepping stone, I am more confident in myself and my Spanish because of my comp. and my Savior! This past change I have recognized, and been amazed at what the Lord has provided me to keep going! And General Conf. was an amazing way to wrap up an amazing week! J GENERAL CONF. was a sweet wonderful dream this past week! It all just make sense!! THE CHURCH IS TRUE!! I loved everything but my favs were the 1st talk by Elder Packer about the life of the Savior, Elder Holland about Tithes and Offerings, Pres. Thomas S. Monson, Sunday Morning about the path of Jesus Christ, and last last but not least that’s for sure was Elder Bednar´s talk about sharing the gospel! That was the whip cream and that pumpkin pie!! Oooh pumpkin pie, its that season! J
And am I correct that somebody really close to me has a birthday comin up tomorrow you don’t say?!?! Again?! Good gravy almost a beehive, kill me now ha jk! DUUUDE lil´sis FELIZ CUMPLEANOS guuuurl! Send me a pic of the party! You are going to party right?! Momma responding to your questions, we went to the Stake Center in Malvin to watch GC, and they had us hooked up with english!! We brought like 6 converts with us, and 1 investigator which turned out awesome, a little crazy but it worked out good and it was basically their 1st GC so thats a lot to take in :)  E'Aguilera will be pleased with the CTR ring when I give it to him! Thanks momma! LOVE YOU TODAY & ALWAYS too much...thats my little addition haha. Have an awesome week, Dad you are a mega wizard, your emails just keep getting better and better. Lindsay I LURV YA, HI by the way, and Alexis I will respond. You are all too amazing, love ya have a too sick week! :)
